Places

It's much the same with places as with the characters. Only without the personal shame of having to "ask" a place whether you may photograph it ;) — so much easier for me.

And places — especially places built, shaped, made by humans — always mirror a moment of a state of being; often not just of one person, but of a shared organism. So they become organisms themselves, and in that light they come alive too, because they keep changing, with (or without) people. All the time. And they begin to tell their own stories, simply by being.

A weathered wooden shingle wall and a window
An ornate old building facade
A ruined church interior, in black and white
The sea meeting a pale sky, rocks below
A dark, textured circle
A dark, moody landscape at dusk
An abandoned house on bare ground
A house mirrored in still water
Bare branches against a heavy sky
A graffiti-covered building mirrored in water
A dark panorama with a distant glow of fire
A power pole along an autumn track
The sky through a hole in a wooden roof
Dark trees at night
A teal-lit industrial ceiling
Grey shutters on a yellow wall
A ruined building reflected in water
An old suitcase in a cave, in black and white
Stone houses beneath a cliff
A star-patterned wooden interior
Cypress trees at dusk
A fence and grass silhouetted against the sunset
Shanties scattered on a hillside, in black and white
Hammocks slung among pine trees
A dark facade with a few lit windows
A purple, stormy sky over a filling station
A busy bazaar street at dusk
A decaying building facade
A ruined brick house with green shutters
Patterns raked into beach sand, in black and white
A lone horse on a pale desert road
A "City Life Bar" alone in the desert
Karst peaks mirrored in a still river
Misty mountains fading into cloud
A hilltop ruin seen through branches
A wooden structure by the sea at dusk
