And in between? Brought back from the travels: letting the pen draw whatever is there — what's going on, what's visible and what's invisible. Often I only noticed afterwards what was actually happening; it was really only in the drawing that I recognised my own inner processes.
Often a completely "innocent" approach in the line that turns out to be a merciless mirror. Lines draw contours; hatching lends the whole thing depth and space. Endless pleasure in the slowness of the hatching. It simply can't go faster… stroke by stroke wants to be set… to add its part to the impression of the whole.
